This year's annual Town Caucus in Concord on January 27 brought out residents despite the remnants of Winter Storm Fern, and it was great to see so many neighbors engaged in local civic life.

At the caucus, residents gathered at the Town House to nominate candidates for several positions that will be decided in the upcoming municipal election on March 31, including the Select Board, School Committee, Planning Board, Library Trustees, Board of Health, and Housing Authority.

I was honored to be nominated for School Committee, and I’m very grateful to Paul Ruhlmann for nominating me and to Julie McClure for seconding the nomination.

For anyone who wasn’t able to attend, or who would like a fuller picture of what happened, The Concord Bridge published a detailed recap of the evening’s nominations and discussions.

The Town Caucus is an important part of local democracy, and I’m grateful to everyone who is willing to put their name forward and serve Concord. Our town is stronger because of the many residents who contribute their time and energy to local government.
